Guess who's back? (Back again). Kisa's back! (Tell a friend).
Soooo yeah. I went MIA. Shortly after my last post life went to shit for a while- I stopped going to the gym because I got suuuuuper sick with the flu, followed by food poisoning (which was 6 weeks of only being about to stomach buttered noodles and saltines in soup all together). Then one of my cats died, then I got to write my thesis. Screw cooking and detoxing when writing a thesis. have
During all of this there were...3 deaths in the family (not including my cat). And I just moved back to CA from WA in order to start work on my PhD.
But now that I'm back, I do have some good news. My SO and my mom (kicking it with the parents for a while to save money) want to do the whole no carb with me!! I believe my mom more than my SO, but it's nice to have support around.
So, here I am. I'll weigh myself tomorrow, and get this party started, all over again.

BIRTHDAAAAAY
Yesterday was my birthday.
I had truly forgotten how horrible Pearl Harbor Day birthdays are when you are a student. I though it was bad to have your birthday during "dead week"- the week before finals- when I was an undergrad. It sucks so much more as a grad student because professors kindly let you basically have finals week off, and everything is due dead week. I have 3 term assignments due within 72 hours of my birthday.
Not like my birthday was special this year- I'm a broke, now 29 year-old grad student, nothing special was really happening. But still, kinda sucks.
Though I must admit, my kick ass fellow student government representatives did make me a kick-ass M&M peanut bag candle thing to blow out. They are pretty awesome.
Which leads me to my confession- I ate the M&Ms. There were 30 carbs in that bag, and I ate every last one. And after my tri-tip dinner (just tri-tip, the boyfriend didn't think to make anything else...but he got flowers!) I had a bowl of gelato. That was 4 hours ago- I am now paying the run to the bathroom price. Eeeew.
Today is just another reminder that I just can't eat carbs, my body doesn't like them.
Down 19.5 lbs officially! I'm a week behind my goal pace, but it's okay. I think I'm getting sick, so I'm really not going to want to eat anyway XD.
Have a wonderful day, folks!

I'm pretty proud of me. At this point, I have written on this blog more than any 1 of the many, many journals I collected as a teenager.
Went swimming today. My arms haven't started to kill me yet, neither have my inner thighs (thank you breast stroke), so that's pretty cool. I had a lot of other stuff to do, but I still managed to do 25 laps. I'm shooting for 32 next time :).
I'm officially at 280 lbs, just about to move the 10's digit down for the first time in this new dietary lifestyle- that's pretty exciting.
Yesterday I made costco chicken bakes at home for the boys, and used the Fat Head Pizza crust base for the base/breadding for mine. I had enough for 2 chicken bakes, and had the other one for dinner tonight while the boys had pizza. Also, green beans. Green beans are amazing.
I don't think I've mentioned "the boys" before. I live with my boyfriend of 10 years and his younger brother (doggie supervisor while I'm in class and the boyfriend is at work).
Still haven't cheated since the first, disasterous cheat day. I'm starting to come out of the keto fog I think, energy is starting to come back, and I'm definitely losing weight.
Later guys!

Swimming, swimming, swimming
I've got to admit- I'm kinda proud of me.
I went swimming! And it was fun! AND- I was bummed to leave. My poor boyfriend decided swimming with an ear infection was a good idea, and after his initial set of strokes, he got a shit ton of water behind the ear, had some bad vertigo, and general pain. He held in there, and did some head up swimming (eeeew), but eventually he needed to go. I only ended up swimming for about half an hour or so, but it was fun, and when I wasn't able to make it yesterday, I was genuinely bummed.
It's on the schedule for Thursday, and I'm super psyched!
Additionally- down like 8 lbs! Wewt! My biggest slip up this week was drinking a "superdrink" of my boyfriends, and it had like 36 carbs in the whole bottle- luckily I broke it up over like 4 days. Still, it's a silly place to use up my carbs..I'd rather save it for alcohol. :D I'm a grad student, I'm allowed.
I made some keto naan bread that is based on the "whoopsie" bread recipe...it was okay. It was chewy, and a bit too dense to be naan. I had it with a slow cooker chicken tikka (I totally cheated and used Trader Joe's masala simmer sauce, instead of my full-blow homemade sauce, marinated chicken), it was okaaaaaay. My full blown version is way better, but, again. I'm a grad student, I didn't have time to cook. I also had cauliflower rice, sauted in some butter, I think that was the best part.
Have a fabulous day, folks!
